Lola Mae Poenitske, 90, of Pevely died Oct. 21, 2026, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Poenitske was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Born April 1, 1936, in Chester, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Carrie (Smith) and Arthur Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Poenitske.
She is survived by a son: David (Cathy) Poenitske of St. Louis; a grandchild: Jordan; and three great-grandchildren: Abel, Jaxon and Keegan.
She also was preceded in death by six siblings: Mary Helen Jung, John Morgan, Arthur Morgan Jr., George Morgan, Joe Morgan and Charles Morgan.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at noon Thursday, Oct. 29, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Kyle Castens. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
