Meghan E. Brown, 31, of De Soto was killed in a one-car accident that happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 25) on Third Street near Easton Street in De Soto, says Lt. Brian Werner of the De Soto Police Department.

Brown was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile north on Third Street, approaching Easton, and the car ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, Werner said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Werner said it looked like Brown had not been wearing a seat belt.

She is survived by her parents, Lloyd “Skip” Brown of Festus and Barbara Brown of De Soto and three children: Ashley Acey, Elizabeth “Libby” Brown and Hana Carrow, all of De Soto.
