Huskey, a senior running back, ran 10 times for 224 yards to lead the Warriors to a season-opening 32-12 victory over their Fox School District rivals, the host Seckman Jaguars on Friday (Aug. 24). Most of Huskey’s yardage came on two long touchdown runs, an 84-yard dash in the first quarter and a 61-yard jaunt in the fourth quarter. Link, a junior pitcher and first baseman, was the winning pitcher in three of her team’s six victories to start the season, including back-to-back wins at the Jefferson County Conference tournament on Saturday (Aug. 25), which the Tigers won. She also got a key RBI single in the seventh inning to score the tying run in a 4-3 win over St. Pius at the tournament.
