De Soto woman hurt in accident on Hwy. H

Ashton P. Richards, 17, of De Soto was hurt in a one-car accident at 10:17 a.m. Monday (June 10) on Hwy. H west of Red Wing Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Richards was driving a 1998 Saturn SC2 east on Hwy. H and partially ran off the right side of the road before overcorrecting twice and then losing control of the car, which ended up running off the right side of the road and overturning, the report said.

She received moderate injuries and was taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where he was treated and released, spokesman John Winkelman said.

    Festus father, son injured in plane crash south of Festus

    Jim Smith and his son, Kristopher Smith, both of Festus, were injured tonight (June 10) when their experimental aircraft crashed about two miles south of the Festus Airport in a field near 2627 Plattin Road.

    At 10:15 p.m., Jim Smith, 65, had been transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Kristopher Smith, 40, also was extricated from the airplane. He, too, was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

    Motorcyclist, 64, injured in wreck on Saturday

    Alex C. Brennan, 64, of Fenton was hurt in a motorcycle wreck at 11:15 p.m. Saturday (June 8) on Hwy. EE at Susan Lane in Dittmer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

    Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in De Soto

    A De Soto police officer arrested a 20-year-old De Soto man May 24 during a traffic stop after discovering him in possession of several drugs.

    According to police, the officer knew the man’s driver license had been suspended when he spotted the suspect driving.     Dittmer man, 21, dies in motorcycle accident in Cedar Hill

    A Dittmer man died late June 6 in a motorcycle accident on Dutch Creek Road north of Hwy. NN in Cedar Hill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

    Joshua Taylor, 21, was driving south on a 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle, which ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.

    Elizabeth K. Million, 37, of High Ridge was hurt in a two-vehicle accident that happened about 11:10 p.m. Friday (May 17) on I-55 north of Imperial Main Street between Imperial and Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

    Ryan C. Burkett, 20, of Dittmer was hurt in a one-car accident at 8:50 p.m. Friday (May 17) on Ficken Road west of Hwy. B in Cedar Hill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

    De Soto motorcyclist, 25, seriously injured in Wednesday accident

    Patrick A. Thurmond, 25, of De Soto was seriously injured at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday (May 15) when his motorcycle struck a van on Hwy. 110 at Old County Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

    Dittmer woman injured in collision with deer

    Phebe M. Lurtz, 52, of Dittmer received moderate injuries when she tried to avoid a collision with a deer very early this morning (May 2) in Cedar Hill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

    Lurtz, driving a 2002 Buick Century, was eastbound on Hwy. 30, west of Ficken Road at 4:30 a.m., when she “attempted to miss hitting a deer,” the patrol reported. Her vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned, the report said.

    Dittmer man dies in fiery crash after 2 a.m. Saturday

    Johnny B. Kramer, 53, of Dittmer died from injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle accident that happened at 2:16 a.m. Saturday (April 27) at Hwy. 30 and Industrial Drive in Cedar Hill, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

    According to a witness interviewed at the scene, Kramer was driving west on Hwy. 30 in the right lane, veered a little to the right and struck a traffic signal post at the intersection with Industrial Drive, the report said.
